We’re so very thrilled that Mount Vernon gets to host a traveling exhibit from the Smithsonian. This particular exhibit is called “Hometown Teams”. This particular exhibit will focus on home-town teams from the state of Iowa. Memorabilia will include items throughout the decades, and will be from our very own local teams. We’ll also join up with town historian, and tour guide, Joe to get the inside scoop. We can’t wait to hear your hometown team story.
Get ready to put on your cowboy boots and dance to this favorite country duo. The Heartland Band will play all of your favorite regular, and country classics during this happy hour. What is happy hour without a little to drink? We offer both alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, and an afternoon snack.
While on our world tour, the Ding-a-Lings are seeking some new members for the group. No musical experience is necessary! Seriously, all you need to be able to do is see color and shake a bell. This snack and learn is meant for interested potential new members to be able to come and learn more about our bell group.
Wednesday, April 17 from 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Leave Garnett Place at 9:30 a.m.
Ready to try your luck? Feeling like you haven’t had a good buffet in a while? Then join us as we drive down to Riverside Casino to enjoy a leisurely day. Bus will return to Garnett Place around 2:00 p.m. No cost for the bus ride, but please be prepared to cover all your expenses within the casino.

As you follow along with the Ding-a-Lings on their world tour, their next stop will be Hilltop Senior Living. Our Ding-a-Lings just love to bring smiles to other senior faces. Please join us as a representative from Linn County talks about these changes and what residents can do to stay active in voting.
